Pleasantview needs a challenge
6 February 2006
Went back to Pleasantview after a long time today. I’d forgotten what was going on there! I have two families of interest there—the Broke family and the Wield family.
Brandi Broke’s third child, of course, was a boy, Daniel. He’s now a child. Brandi met an eldery gent called Dominique Something-or-other downtown and one thing lead to another, which in turn led to yet another child. Thankfully, she had a girl. Daisy is still a baby, and her brothers seem to be rallying around looking after her.
Dustin grew up rather badly. He’s in the military now. Beau’s in school, and so is Daniel. Frankly, I’m bored with them all.
The Wield family consists of Edgar Wield and his partner Edwin Digweed. They’re characters from my beloved Reginald Hill books. Elderly-looking, rather sweet old gents. But I don’t really know what to do with them any more. They’re past the romantic dinners and slow-dancing phase. They need a new challenge, and somehow I don’t see Ed and Ed bringing up kiddies.

Ed and Ed sound boring! Throw in a third lover.

Hmm… maybe a woman just for change’s sake?!
